A fire destroyed the green-colored building in the 5400 block of Dixie Highway early Friday morning, June 26, and Fairfield Fire Chief Don Bennett doesn’t believe it was storm related.

Fire crews arrived on the scene of the fire that was fully involved at 1:56 a.m. Friday, he said. Bennett said investigators will have an arson dog come in to check the building.

“At this point in time, there’s not significant evidence that it was associated with the storm last night so we’re trying to eliminated possibility,” said Bennett. “We felt it was a quick fire.”

When asked if he felt it was arson, Bennett said, “I don’t know.”

Only two walls of the business that sold used and reconditioned video games remained, he said.

Bennett said crews were concerned about the building behind the fire, but it was not damaged.

Estimated damage is not known because fire investigators need to talk with the property owners.
