MIDDLETOWN — Twice as many people plan to attend the local business chamber’s Economic Forecast Luncheon to get a glimpse of what’s to come in 2010.
The Chamber of Commerce Serving Middletown, Monroe and Trenton will host its annual Economic Forecast Luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. today, Nov. 18, in the Sycamore Room at the Middletown Area Senior Center, 3907 Central Ave.
Alfred “Skip” Shepard, senior vice president and chief investment officer of Hamilton-based First Financial Bank, will deliver the forecast, which he said will include a look into unemployment figures, the stock and housing markets and investment information.
About 84 people have made reservations to attend the event, double the 40 people who signed up for last year’s luncheon, according to the chamber.
Bill Triick, president of the Middletown chamber, said he hopes the presentation will lead to good business decisions.
“We believe that (attendees) will know a lot more (Wednesday) than they know (Tuesday) from looking at a professional presentation from someone that looks at all the indicators that we on a day-to-day basis don’t see,” he said.
The cost to attend the luncheon is $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers.
