The ninth annual Fairfield YMCA Turkey Trot 5K will benefit “Livestrong at the YMCA.”
The 5K is a run and walk set to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at Waterworks Park on Groh Lane. A kids’ fun run starts after the 5K.
The race course is USATF certified. The race starts at the parks and ends at the bike path on Groh.
“Livestrong at the YMCA” is a program that started in 2007 between the Lance Armstrong Foundation and YMCA of the USA. It helps people affected by cancer reach their health and well-being goals.
The race cost $20 for participants if they register by Friday, Nov. 13. After Friday, the race costs $25. The first 175 participants will receive a Turkey Trot T-shirt. Race day registration is from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. and race packet pick-up begins at 7:45 a.m.
