WEST CHESTER TWP. — Contech Construction Products announced this morning it has acquired Thompson Culvert Co. and Plateau Pipe Co. for an undisclosed amount.

Thompson Culvert, based in Hazelwood Mo., manufactures corrugated steel pipe and distributes related construction products. The company has plants in Hazelwood, Sikeston and Springfield, Mo. Contech officials said they plan to continue to operate all of Thompson’s plants.

Cookeville, Tenn.-based Plateau Pipe produces corrugates metal pipe and provides for customers in Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina. Contech officials said they will continue to use the Cookeville facility as a distribution center.

The Thompson acquisition is key to growing Contech’s drainage business, said. Ron Keating, president and CEO of Contech.

Meanwhile, the purchase of Plateau Pipe will allow the company “to expand our Southeastern distribution points and to better serve the region with the most comprehensive selection of drainage and site solution products available,” he said.

West Chester Twp.-based Contech provides products and services for the civil engineering industry. It’s offices are located at Centre Pointe Drive.
