Typically, people go to The Beach Waterpark to get out of the heat. Starting today, Nov, 27, it becomes a place where people can enjoy the cold.
Holiday Fest — the Beach on Ice reopens that day with some new attractions designed to kick the mercury a little higher, said Darcy Little, a publicist for the event.
One new attraction is the Beach on Ice Skate Pavilion, where people can rent skates in a new heated building next to Carroll’s Ice Skating Rink. Visitors can also buy snacks, holiday treats and play arcade games.
Another new attraction is the Christmas Cabin by the Lake. This cabin can be rented by small groups to warm up inside and enjoy the view of the skating rink.
A new event this year is the Summer in December Luau on Saturday, Dec. 19, where the park will serve a traditional luau meal, including hind quarter beefs roasted on a spit over an open flame.
“It’s another fun way to try to bring summer back into winter,” Little said.
New discount include free parking all season, and the Holiday Fest Skate Past, with which guests can enjoy daily free admission and skate rental all season for $45.
Returning attractions include the Cool Runnings Toboggan Slides, the North Pole Petting Corral, a live Nativity scene, a Polar Express Miniature Train Display and visits with Santa at the Bavarian Mall.
