WEST CHESTER TWP. — Firehouse Subs is coming to West Chester Twp. and area representative Charles Fryman said he expects it will be the hottest new restaurant in town.

“We’ve just got a lot of people excited about coming,” he said. “We can’t wait to open.”

Eight-inch subs will cost around $5.50, and Fryman said he guarantees they will be larger portions, have fresher produce and will taste better than the competition.

“We steam the meat and cheese,” he said. “It locks in the moisture and allows the meat and the cheese flavors to burst. There’s such a difference between a hot steamed sub versus a cold one. We also used the highest quality meats and the cheeses that we can find.”

A highlight to this store, he said, will be a Coke Freestyle System. It is a flavor machine, allowing customers to choose from 100 flavors to mix with their Coke. It is the only machine of its kind in the area, he said, and will make this restaurant stand out.
The West Chester Twp. restaurant, the first of 19 anticipated regional stores, is expected to open in mid-March on Dudley Drive off Tylersville Road.

Created 16 years ago by the Sorensen brothers, who were firefighters as well as entrepreneurs, the franchise now has 400 restaurants nationwide.

Fryman said he will be training all interested owners and managers from the surrounding region at the West Chester Twp. location.

Each restaurant reflects the community it is in, and the West Chester Twp. Fire Department has donated items to place on display, he said. There will be a mural depicting a World War II-style fire truck, the Voice of America radio station and a modern West Chester Twp. logo with a fire truck.

All firefighters and first responders who eat at the restaurant get a free drink and chips, Fryman said. Also, proceeds from $2 pickle buckets along with donations go toward purchasing life-saving equipment for local fire and police departments.
