A gray Chrysler Sebring flipped onto its top in the middle of Eaton Avenue during a rush-hour crash that blocked the road in both directions.
The single-vehicle accident occurred shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at 212 Eaton Avenue.
The driver, Vicilla Shelton, 56, of Fairfield suffered minor injuries. She appears to have been driving eastbound on Eaton and struck a parked pickup truck, causing her to roll over, according to police on the scene.
Shelton said she doesn’t know what happened, and when the car rolled over a stranger came to her aid.
“I was just worried about catching on fire,” she said. “I just said, ‘Get my seatbelt off.’”
Shelton was cited for failure to control her vehicle.
