WEST CHESTER TWP. — A Lakota West Freshman School bus was involved in a crash Tuesday, Nov. 24 that sent two students to an area hospital.
Lakota West Freshman Associate Principal Shelley Hilderbrand accompanied the two students to Cincinnati Children’s Liberty Campus, where they were treated for minor injuries.
“We take these things very seriously because these are our community’s children on the road,” said Lakota spokesperson Laura Kursman.
Hilderbrand attempted to call all parents of students on the bus, she said. After the crash, those students were placed on another bus and returned home.
The accident occurred about 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Ohio 747 and Rialto Road. Damage to the bus appeared moderate, Kursman said, but further investigation is needed to determine the full extend of the damage.
Another bus was involved in an accident Nov. 20 when a vehicle struck the bus with one student on board. There were no injuries, though the driver was taken to an area hospital as a precaution.
