Hamilton craft beer taproom opens Saturday

A new craft beer taproom opens Saturday at 134 N. 2nd St. in Hamilton.

North Second Tap and Bottle Shop offers 10 taps of craft beer on a rotating basis, as well as four taps of wine — two red wines and two white wines, according to owner Dan Connaughton.

Bring-your-own growler fills also are available, Connaughton said.

“First and foremost, I decided to launch this business because I love beer,” he previously told the Journal-News. “Secondly, I want to be a part of the revitalization of downtown Hamilton by creating a place that is unique and will help bring vibrancy back to downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods.”

The business will open at noon Saturday.

Live music will be featured throughout the grand opening celebration. Food truck Neal’s Famous BBQ is scheduled to serve from noon to 5 p.m., and Food Fellas Food Truck will be on hand from 7 p.m. to close.

Regular hours will be 3 to 10 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays; 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. Thursdays and Fridays; noon to 1 a.m. Saturdays.
