LIBERTY TWP. — Nearly 30 businesses have moved into Liberty Twp. in the past two years, and leaders say the area is thriving despite the state of the economy.
“The township is fortunate to continue welcoming so many new businesses to the community,” Economic Development Director Caroline McKinney said. “...While we’ve had some businesses close, it’s nice to see those old spaces being occupied so quickly.”
Growth is happening in all four of the township’s commercial corridors along Cincinnati-Dayton Road, Liberty Way, Ohio 747 and Ohio 4; and business owners say that is attractive to them.
West Chester Liberty Chamber Alliance President and CEO Joe Hinson said access to I-75 and the new interchange are key to growth in the area that has a population of more than 33,000 in Liberty Twp. and 65,000 in West Chester Twp. In addition, there is a regional draw of consumers, which adds to the appeal for businesses, Hinson said.
“I think it all adds up to a positive outlook and positive opportunity both for the businesses that are coming in and for the residents that are going to be served,” he said.
MidUSA Credit Union moved from its Monroe location and opened this week in the Liberty Falls complex off Cincinnati-Dayton Road.
Senior Vice President Tim Lee said the move allows for more exposure in a fast-growing community, making the credit union conveniently located for loyal Monroe clients and new ones in West Chester and Liberty townships.
