Ford Motor Co., up 58 cents at $7.58
The automaker surprised investors with net income of nearly $1 billion in the third quarter and forecast a "solidly profitable" 2011.
Office Depot Inc., down 23 cents at $5.82
An analyst cut his rating on the office products retailer and said he prefers OfficeMax Inc. as an investment.
Denbury Resources Inc., down $1.51 at $13.09
The oil and gas producer will acquire Encore Acquisition Co., while divesting assets and issuing new shares to help fund the purchase.
American Electric Power Co., up 17 cents at $30.39
The power company expects to earn $2.80 to $3.20 per share next year, helped by rate increases and an expected improvement in sales.
Mednax Inc., up $1.85 at $53.77
The health care services company said its third-quarter profit jumped on a boost from existing and new medical businesses.
Domtar Corp., up $3.44 at $45.33
Two analysts upgraded shares of the paper and wood products maker on prospects that strong free cash flow will aid debt reduction.
Brunswick Corp., up 68 cents at $10.16
An analyst upgraded the recreational boat maker and said restructuring plans and other moves should result in operating cost savings.
NASDAQ:
YRC Worldwide Inc., down $2.33 at $1.32
The struggling trucking company launched a debt exchange offer, a move analysts consider a key step to avoid a bankruptcy filing.
