She will begin her new job on Aug. 14.
According to a news release from Xenia, Fisher signed a five-year contract that will pay $108,000 annually. Her contract can be renewed for yearly extensions if council does not extend her contract or fails to notify her of its intent not to renew with 30 days notice before its termination.
Fisher will oversee seven employees in the Xenia law department, including the city prosecutor and victims assistance program.
“Franklin has been really good to me,” Fisher said. “It wasn’t an easy decision, but it’s a really good opportunity for me in Xenia.”

Fisher, a graduate of the College of Wooster and Case Western Reserve University School of Law, served as Eaton’s law director for four years and also handled civil and criminal cases for four years with the Preble County Prosecutor’s Office.
In addition to her work as law director, Fisher has also been active in the Franklin community. In the past few years, Fisher worked with residents to begin the weekly farmers market in the parking lot of the city building each Saturday during the summer.
At Monday’s Franklin City Council meeting, Mayor Denny Centers thanked Fisher for her 11 years of service, saying she had “done an outstanding job as law director” as well as working on a number of community projects.
