A job fair being held Tuesday is intended for a certain demographic of job seekers: young adults and teenagers ages 15-24.

Goodwill Easter Seals, which provides youth services in Butler County; in partnership with OhioMeansJobs — Butler County; is holding the job fair from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, at Butler Tech. The career school provided the information about the event.

Job seekers and employers will meet at that time Tuesday at the Butler Tech D. Russel Lee campus, located at 3603 Hamilton-Middletown Road in Fairfield Twp.

Seasonal part-time and some full-time job opportunities are available, according to Butler Technology Career and Development Schools.

Applicants should come dressed to impress and bring copies of their resumes. Some employers will conduct on-site interviews.

Businesses from several industries throughout Butler County have been invited, as well as organizations with volunteer positions. Participating companies, according to Butler Tech, include: Speedway, Lowe’s, City of Oxford Parks and Recreation, Miami University, Hollister Co., Lithko Contracting, Public Allies Cincinnati, Hayneedle Inc., Miami University Middletown, KFC, Walmart, Jockey, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Community Concepts and Bickford of Middletown.

The Butler Tech campus is located on the Butler County Regional Transit Authority R1 bus line. For more information about routes, call 513-785-5237.

Macy’s adding call center jobs in region

In case you missed it, this news outlet first reported online Feb. 29 that Warren County stands to gain nearly 200 new jobs at a Macy's credit and customer service center. Hiring for the positions has already started.

Earlier this year, the Cincinnati-based fashion retailer outlined a series of cost-cutting efforts totaling about $400 million.

In addition to shuttering stores, the company announced in January plans to close one of its service centers in the St. Louis area, and divide the work between three other call center locations, including one at Governor’s Pointe Office Park in Deerfield Twp. near Mason.

The Ohio Tax Credit Authority on Feb. 29 approved a seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for Macy’s local expansion in exchange for the creation of at least 175 new jobs in Deerfield Twp. and Springdale. Macy’s is also leasing space in Springdale at Progress Park.

To find job openings, visit macysjobs.com and search "Ohio" and "Mason" to find available job titles.
