A Girl Scout leader told police a counterfeit $20 bill was found in money raised by the troop while selling Girl Scout cookies at an Oxford Kroger store.

The phony bill was discovered by the PNC bank in West Chester Twp. after the troop leader took the money there for deposit March 6. The bank advised her to file a police report in the jurisdiction where the offense occurred.

The leader of Troop 41988 made that police report March 7 to document the incident.

According to the police report, no one had any recollection of someone acting suspicious at the sale area or knows who may have used the fake bill.
