Fairfield Twp. father charged for allegedly injuring infant

A Fairfield Twp. man is facing felony charges for allegedly causing injuries to his 5-month old son, according to police.

On Friday morning, Fairfield Township Police were notified of a possible child abuse case involving an infant.

A family member who was babysitting the child noticed injuries on the child’s body and immediately contacted law enforcement. The family member then transported the child directly to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Liberty Twp. for an evaluation. Medical personnel discovered the child sustained bone fractures in various states of healing.

Further investigation by Fairfield Twp. detectives resulted in the arrest of Matthew Lohmueller, 20, of the 2600 block of Fairfield Ridge Drive, according to police.

Lohmueller was booked in to the Butler County Jail on Saturday morning, a felony charge of endangering children and felonious assault, both second-degree felonies.
