The Herman Cain Show is now on WHIO-Radio (95.7 FM and AM1290), replacing the long-time show hosted by Neal Boortz who retired last week and turned the reigns over to Cain.

The show airs from 9 a.m. to noon on weekdays.

Cain replaces Neal Boortz, the outspoken radio personality inducted into the national Radio Hall of Fame in 2009 in recognition of his 40 years in broadcasting. In June, Boortz announced he was planning to retire from his daily show and that he would be passing the torch to his friend and colleague.

Cain, a 2012 presidential candidate for the Republican Party, is well-known as a syndicated columnist, author and businessman. He was chairman and CEO of Godfather’s Pizza and deputy chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City Omaha Branch. He was CEO of the National Restaurant Association.

Before his run for the presidency, Cain hosted a radio show on News/Talk WSB in Atlanta and has been joining Boortz on his nationally syndicated show in recent months. He has also served as Boortz’ primary fill-in host.

“Our research indicated that out of all potential replacements, listeners loved Herman the best,” said Nick Roberts, operations manager for WHIO-Radio, who said he knows Cain well.

“In person, he’s one of the most dynamic personalities you’d ever want to know,” Roberts said. “He recently gave a speech at a national radio conference I attended and he got a standing ovation. It’s the first time I’d ever seen that. He’s a funny guy who says his show is not going to be hate or bashing, but is going to be fun and full of solutions to problems that happen in people’s lives.”

The radio show, which reaches six million weekly listeners, is heard on 200 radio stations across the nation and is syndicated by Cox Media Group, which includes the Dayton Daily News, WHIO-TV and WHIO radio (95.7FM and AM1290). It is represented nationally for advertising and affiliate sales by Dial Global.
