OXFORD TWP. — Oxford police have collected nearly 50 items that were stolen earlier this week in a theft spree that ended in the arrest of two people in Kentucky, said Oxford Twp. police chief Michael Goins.

Police arrested Justin Bishop, 24, who is believed to be living in Indiana, and Joann Koutroubas, 21, of Oxford, for felony theft. Bishop also is charged with burglary and faces additional charges in Kentucky, Goins said.

Police say Bishop entered a Main Street home in College Corner early Tuesday, Dec. 1 and allegedly stole several items from the house and then a 1990 Oldsmobile Delta 88, Goins said.

He is accused of then picking up Koutroubas in the stolen car, Goins said, and the two allegedly stole from multiple cars in Oxford, Millville and Preble County, Goins said.

Police found that a stolen credit card was used at a Walmart in Florence, Ky. and the Boone County Sheriff’s Office located the stolen car Tuesday and took the two suspects into custody, Goins said.

Nearly 50 items, including watches, cell phones, gaming devices, camera, DVDs and more, were recovered from a motel in Kentucky and police there are processing additional items from the stolen car, Goins said.

Bishop is being held by Kentucky police and Koutroubas was taken to Butler County Jail, Goins said.

Anyone who was a victim of the thefts can check the list of recovered items online at oxfordtwpohio.org.
