FAIRFIELD — A man was stabbed in the back during an apparent argument over money, according to Fairfield police.
Benedicto De La Cruz-Palacios, 39, of 4405 Mack Road, was booked into the Butler County Jail at about 3:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12. He is charged with felonious assault for allegedly stabbing David E. Ramirez-Orellana at about 5 p.m. Wednesday during a dispute near a home in the 3400 block of Mack Road, according to police.
“They got into an argument over money, and then they got into an altercation,” said Fairfield police spokesman Lt. Kevin Haddix.
Ramirez-Orellana suffered a stab wound to the back, and was flown by medical helicopter to University Hospital in Cincinnati, where he was in stable condition Wednesday night and later was released.
During the incident, De La Cruz-Palacios suffered a minor head injury, police said.
Police have not yet recovered the knife used to stab Ramirez-Orellana, and the incident remains under investigation, Haddix said.
