HAMILTON — Police say a man was responsible for a series of robberies that have plagued West Side businesses in the city recently.

Adam Floyd Barger, 28, of the 1000 block of Ross Avenue, was arrested Friday, Nov. 20, and charged with two counts of robbery, Hamilton police announced Monday, Nov. 23.

Police said on Thursday, Nov. 19, Barger robbed Discount Tobacco, 1018 Main St., and on Tuesday, Nov. 17, he robbed ShowPlace Cinema 10, 877 NW Washington Blvd.

Four additional charges are expected to be filed, said Hamilton police spokesman Sgt. Tom Kilgour.

Before his arrest, police were looking for Barger because he was wanted for theft. Kilgour said investigators matched photos of Barger to video recordings of other unsolved robberies.

Police said Barger is responsible for robberies at Milillo’s, 1010 Main St.; Brown’s Market, 1416 Main St.; Marsh Supermarket, 1204 Millville Ave.; and Marathon gas station, 1405 Millville Ave.

Barger has previous convictions in 2000 and 2002 for theft and complicity to theft, according to Butler County court records.

If anyone has additional information concerning the above crimes, they are encouraged to contact the Hamilton Police Department’s Investigations Section at (513) 868-5811, ext. 2002.
