MIDDLETOWN — A bomb threat led to the evacuation of the Stephen Vail Middle School today, Dec. 1.

Middletown police say a male subject called 911 at roughly 7:56 a.m. and said there was a bomb at the school. The principal made the decision to evacuate, and bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in, officials said.

The dogs found nothing, and school resumed at 11:10 a.m., according to police.

“We checked the school with the search and didn’t find any evidence of a bomb, and school officials resumed their normal day,” said police Sgt. Brad Carrozza.

Middletown police say an investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call (513) 425-7700.
