Police are investigating a reported robbery at a US Bank in West Chester this morning.

UPDATE, 12:20 p.m.

West Chester Police said employees of the bank stated a white male subject entered the bank, presented a note to the teller that demanded U.S. currency. An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was given to the subject and he fled the bank in an unknown direction, police said.

West Chester police are contacting area police agencies to see if a robbery this morning at the US Bank on Tylers Place Boulevard is connected to other robberies in the area. 

The West Chester bank was robbed about 9:30 a.m. today. The suspect, described as a 5-foot-6 white male, told a teller he had a bomb in his jacket, according to scanner traffic. 

Lt. David Tivin told this news agency investigators were interviewing customers and employees and reviewing video from inside the bank before releasing a better description of the suspect. 

The release is expected around noon, he said.

A US Bank at 7797 Tylers Place Blvd. in West Chester may have been robbed this morning, according to police scanner traffic.

West Chester police responded to the bank at 9:30 a.m. on a report that it was robbed.

The bank is closed with four police cruisers on scene, and customers are being turned away as police investigate, according to our reporter at the scene.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-6 white male with short brown hair who was wearing white gloves. It’s unclear whether he left in a vehicle.

The suspect allegedly passed a note saying he had a bomb in his jacket.
