Police looking for suspect in 2 Fairfield robberies

Fairfield police searched Tuesday for a suspect who robbed a business and then a woman in another business parking lot that morning, according to Lt. Ken Gerold.

A man robbed the Fuel Mart at 5085 Pleasant Ave. at about 10:40 a.m. and then robbed a woman in the parking lot of a neighboring business, police said.

The suspect threatened the Fuel Mart clerk with a knife and took cash from the register.

A short time later, police believe the same man robbed a woman with a knife at 5127 Pleasant Ave. The suspect took the woman’s wallet and left on foot. The wallet was later found by police in a nearby wooded area.

A Fairfield police canine unit was called in to track the suspect, but he was not located.

The robber is described as a white male, wearing a dark hooded jacket and a dark baseball-style hat.

Police are still investigating both robberies.
