INITIAL REPORT: Several stabbed after fight breaks out at Fairfield bar
Police Chief Mike Dickey said the incident appears to be an “altercation between two groups.”
Six people — whose identities have not been released — were treated at area hospitals for stab or slash wounds sustained. Police say the severity of the injuries are unknown, but no fatalities have been reported.
Investigators have not talked with any of the stabbing victims, but Dickey said the incident appears to be isolated to the two groups of people involved.
“There is no public safety issue,” he said.
The Journal-News has requested body and cruiser camera video, but Dickey said it could take weeks before investigators can release the footage. There are a few dozen hours of camera footage investigators are still reviewing, Dickey said.
Police say there may have been others injured, and may not have been seen by a doctor or interviewed by police. Anyone injured or witnessed the incident is asked to call police at 513-829-8201.
