Butler County Empty Bowls events bring awareness, help to hunger

Every year, hundreds of communities across the country combine art with fighting hunger as part of the Empty Bowls project.

At the events, guests choose from among a collection of bowls created, decorated and donated by local students and residents. Their bowls are then filled with their choice of soups made by local cooks or restaurants. Luncheon guests then keep their bowls to use or display at home and to serve as a reminder that there are always empty bowls in the world.

In Butler County, Empty Bowls Butler County is operated through Butler County United Way.

All events held throughout Butler County will flow through Butler County United Way for appropriate distribution of funds to Butler County food outlets, according to the organization. For more information, click here.
