The popular Butler County Donut Trail, created by the Butler County Visitors Bureau, recently earned the organization an award at a national conference.

The Butler County Visitors Bureau received the Destiny Award for Special Projects for creativity and execution of the Butler County Donut Trail at the U.S. Travel Association Annual ESTO Conference on Aug. 30.

“The Butler County Visitors Bureau works every day to create compelling programs to bring more visitors to our destination. To be recognized as one of the absolute best in the United States by the U.S. Travel Association and represent our community among large destinations and leaders in the travel industry is an enormous honor,” said Mark Hecquet, executive director of the Butler County Visitors Bureau.

The Butler County Visitors Bureau was the only winner representing Ohio.

More than 800 of the top destination marketers from around the United States were part of the conference, according to the local visitors bureau.

The Butler County Visitors Bureau was one of only 13 destination marketing organizations nationwide to receive recognition across 14 categories.

The U.S. Travel Association Destiny Awards honor excellence and creative accomplishment in destination marketing and the development of imaginative promotional programs at the local and regional level. A judging panel of industry leaders for companies including National Geographic, Fathom, Ogilvy, McGarryBowen, Facebook and Google selected winners.
