Personal income in Ohio grows

Personal income in Ohio grew 0.5 percent in the third quarter compared to the preceding quarter, the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis reported Thursday, Dec. 17.

The results mark the second consecutive quarter of growth in personal income in the state, according to a news release.

Health care and social assistance provided the largest bump in the percentage change in personal income, growing 0.16 percent, the bureau said. The insurance and finance sector contributed 0.09 percent to the gains, the bureau said.

State personal income across the country gained 0.3 percent during the quarter, with 19 states seeing net earnings growth for the first time in a year, the bureau said.
