Meijer will hire 60 new employees at its distribution facility in Tipp City, company officials said.

The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer will interview job candidates starting Monday during its Warehouse Associate Career Week. Interviews will be held from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Meijer’s distribution facility, 4200 South County Road 25A, Tipp City.

Meijer is hiring warehouse labor to meet continued growth in its Midwest markets, officials said. The company currently has 750 employees at its Tipp City facility.

Job duties involve picking, packing and loading. Applicants must be able to continuously lift up to 75 pounds.

The positions start at part-time, with the opportunity to go full time after six months. Starting wages range from $8.85 to $13.35 per hour. After one year, associates could earn up to $14 per hour.

On the spot interviews are available, or applicants may reserve an interview time.

Interested candidates should complete an application online at www.joinmeijer.com and use the keyword “Tipp.” Application assistance also will be available on site or by phone at (937) 667-9601.

Meijer operates 10 stores in the Dayton, Springfield and northern Cincinnati areas. The retail chain operates 199 “supercenters” and grocery stores throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky. The company has nearly 60,000 employees in those states.

Meijer added two stores in 2012 in Michigan and in the Chicago area, and plans to add six stores in 2013, although none of the new stores are in Ohio, officials said.
