MacAulay-Brown Inc., a defense, intelligence and homeland security contractor, has acquired the intellectual property and other assets of the secure computing and communications division of Roanoke, Va.-based Luna Innovations Inc.

The division and its employees will be immediately become part of MacAulay-Brown’s advanced technology group, the company said Monday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. MacAulay-Brown did not say whether any of the acquired division’s employees will be transferred to the Dayton area.

Since 2003, the division that was acquired has developed electronic components and has provided technical services for U.S. security needs, Beavercreek-based MacAulay-Brown said.

“The addition of (the division), its product line and highly talented employees is a perfect complement to MacB,” Sid Fuchs, MacAulay-Brown president and chief executive, said in the company’s statement. “The acquisition will deliver immediate benefits to our customers, as well as increase our capabilities and footprint in critical sectors of the intelligence community, DoD and homeland security.”

MacAulay-Brown has about 600 Dayton-area employees and about 2,000 employees in 20 locations across the nation, from Colorado to Virginia and abroad.
