Land purchased for future Warren County meat processing plant

A Blue Ash company has purchased the land in Warren County where it has proposed to build a meat processing plant with 200 jobs.

Empire Foods bought 21 acres in Mason on Alliance Drive for approximately $819,000, according to records with the Warren County Auditor’s Office. The auditor’s office recorded the sale Nov. 1. Alliance Drive is off North Mason Montgomery Road, close to the intersection with Bethany Road.

The land was bought under an entity affiliated with Empire Foods named Mason Processing LLC.

Empire Foods, a food broker that works closely with The Kroger Co., plans to build a pork processing and packaging plant, according to city officials. About 200 jobs will be created within three years of operation, generating an estimated $5 million in annual payroll.

The project has won city and state tax incentives.

The land is part of the industrial business park Lakewood Commerce Center, about 20 minutes away from both Hamilton and Middletown.
