Kings Island parent sees strong attendance over holiday weekend

The parent company of Kings Island got another sign over the weekend that this year will likely be a record one for attendance and revenues.

Including Labor Day weekend attendance, revenues year-to-date for Cedar Fair have risen to approximately $881 million, which is up 5 percent or $40 million for the same time period last year. Park guests are spending 4 percent more, or $41.74 on average, Cedar Fair said. Attendance is up 1 percent year-over-year to 19.4 million people at Sandusky, Ohio-based Cedar Fair’s various amusement and water parks, including Kings Island and Cedar Point.

It doesn’t report park attendance separately.

The sixth season of Halloween Haunt begins at the end of the month at Kings Island and consists of 11 mazes, four fear zones, and “roamers and creepers” throughout the park.

Kings Island is in Warren County.
