Humana’s health plan ranked highest in Ohio for overall member satisfaction, followed by Medical Mutual of Ohio and CIGNA, according to a J.D. Power and Associates report released Thursday, April 1.

Other insurance companies rated in the survey include Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Ohio, and UnitedHealthcare. Aetna ranked the lowest in overall experience.

The report said overall health plan member satisfaction nationwide declined significantly from a year earlier, from 712 to 701 on a 1,000-point scale. The study measures satisfaction among members who bought coverage individually or through their employer from 133 health plans in 17 regions throughout the United States.

The study looked at seven factors: coverage and benefits, provider choice, information and communication, claims processing, statements, customer service, and approval processes.
