Frontier Airlines announces Cincinnati service

CINCINNATI —

Frontier Airlines today announced new nonstop service between its hub at Denver International Airport and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

This new service, with connections to 19 destinations beyond Denver, will start May 17. Frontier’s first flight from Denver will arrive at CVG the evening of May 16.

CVG is proud to offer the additional nonstop connection to Denver and the west coast for its business and leisure passengers in the region, according to Candace McGraw, the airport’s chief executive officer.

“We are excited that Frontier has chosen CVG as a new market on their expanding network,” McGraw said. “CVG customers have been asking for a low-cost carrier option, and this new non-stop service is a great compliment to our existing airline partners.”

The new service will operate on a 168-seat Airbus 320 aircraft, which offer customer amenities that include 30 channels of satellite television service available at every seat.

Frontier is offering introductory fares as low as $99 each way, available for purchase online through Feb. 2.

The airline announced Jan. 11 that it was pulling out of Dayton International Airport on May 31.

Frontier at the start of the year discontinued its morning flights to Denver, one of two daily flights it had from Dayton. The other is an afternoon flight to the same destination.

The additional service is expected to be welcomed by both business and leisure passengers, according to Jim Huff, chairman of the board for the Kenton County Airport Board, which operates the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

“The board has been working to address the needs of travelers in our three-state region,” Huff said. “This new service, combined with our existing flight schedule, demonstrates how we’re looking for new opportunities for both the public and our airline partners.”

The new service to Denver joins the low-cost airline’s existing nonstop service operated in partnership with Apple Vacations from Cincinnati to Cancun, Mexico, and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
