The Montgomery County ED/GE (Economic Development/Government Equity) committee has recommended that county commissioners approve more than $1.8 million in development funding for 10 projects .

County commissioners are scheduled to consider the recommendations today.

Included among the recommendations are $300,000 for Encon in Vandalia, which plans to create 63 new jobs, and $300,000 for FC Industries in Harrison Twp., which wants to add 40 jobs.

IDX Corp., also in Harrison Twp., wants to take over the former REX showroom at 2875 Needmore Road in a project that the company says will bring 130 jobs while creating some 120 jobs, according to county expectations.

Other projects recommended for commission approval include:

* Malt Products, Dayton, $400,000 to build a “state-of-the-art malt extract plant” to replace a New Jersey plant, the county said. The project will retain 35 jobs and create 30 new jobs in the next two years, the company has said.

* All Service Plastic Molding, Vandalia, $200,000 in a project that will add 60,000 square feet. The company has pledged to create fifty additional jobs.

* Spears Transfer & Expediting, Vandalia, $50,000 to build a new facility on a seven-acre lot in Stonequarry Crossings Industrial Park. Eight new jobs are anticipated and ED/GE funds will offset the cost of land, the county said.

* Value Added Packaging, Englewood, $50,000 for an additional 45,000 square feet to the company’s existing building in the Englewood Otterbein Industrial Park. The company is expected to maintain a workforce of 24 full-time employees and create 13 new jobs in the next three years.

* Heidelberg Consolidation, Moraine, $235,000 to move its corporate headquarters to the former Cooper Tire warehouse off Dryden Road. Twenty new jobs will be created, bringing the company’s total employment to just under 300, the county said.

* For a manufacturing facility in Miami Twp., $100,000. “This project will entail renovation of a highly specialized production section of a manufacturing facility, infrastructure and equipment,” the county said in a statement. ED/GE funds will be used to fund the replacement of a freight elevator cylinder, driveway and parking lots, roof leaks and repair of a truck dock.

* Crown Partners in Washington Twp, $50,000 for the demolition, restructuring and remodeling of an existing building at 7725 Paragon Road. Thirty-three new jobs will be added for a total of 40 employees, the county said.
