Middletown police respond to report of shots fired at house

UPDATE@4:40 p.m.: Middletown police are looking for a tan Malibu or Impala that may have been involved this afternoon in a shooting on 14th Avenue.

Witnesses told police there were two black males in the vehicle at the time of shooting.

Lt. Scott Reeve said there were no injuries and police have no motives.

UPDATE@4 p.m.: Middletown police still looking for suspects who allegedly fired shots at a home in the 1100 block of 14th Avenue this afternoon.

Police canvassed the area looking for evidence and talked to residents and neighbors. There have been no arrests, police said.

It appeared no one was injured by the gun fire.

The road was closed during the investigation. Nearly 10 Middletown police officers and detectives and one State Highway Patrol officer responded at 2:45 p.m. to the shooting.

Initial report: Middletown police officers are responding to a report of shots being fired on 14th Avenue.

Several cruisers were seen leaving police department at a high rate of speed about 2:45 p.m.

Police said a car drove by and fired several shots at a house in the 1100 block of 14th Avenue. However, it did not appear that anyone was hit.

Part of 14th Avenue was shut down as the investigation continued, and several Middletown officers and detectives were looking for evidence in the street and interviewing residents in the house.

The street is now reopen.

Police are looking for a tan vehicle, possibly tan Chevrolet, with two suspects. One is allegedly responsible for firing the shots.
