Jackson indicated he needed a court-appointed attorney. He is scheduled to be back in court next week for a preliminary hearing.

A Trenton man is in custody for allegedly robbing a Middletown pharmacy of drugs after telling employees he had a machete.
Middletown police and the Butler County Sheriff’s Department’s SWAT team executed a search warrant this morning in the 3900 block of North First Street in Trenton.

Matthew D. Jackson, 35, was found with evidence linking him to the robbery, police said.
Jackson is charged with aggravated robbery for allegedly robbing the CVS on Breiel Boulevard on Friday night.
According to detectives, a large mechanic’s file was found at the residence.
The suspect entered CVS and told the pharmacist to give him on the narcotics or he would use the machete he had on her, according to the search warrant obtained by this news source. He was given a bag containing 115 hydrocodone pills. None of the medication was found at Jackson’s residence.

“We thank the many people that came forward with information when his photo was released. Thanks to the assistance from our citizens we were able to quickly take Mr. Jackson into custody,” Middletown Police Chief Rodney Muterspaw said.
