There were 293 vehicles that passed through the checkpoint, he said.
“Of the 293, five cars were diverted for further investigation. Of the five, one was arrested for OVI and one was issued a citation for driving under suspension,” Reising said.
He added that the checkpoint ended earlier than scheduled because the traffic flow had dwindled.
There were no arrests made by saturation units outside the checkpoint area, he said.
Agencies participating in the checkpoint included the Fairfield Police Department, Hamilton Police Department, Butler County Sheriff’s Office, and Ohio State Patrol.
The Butler County OVI Task Force will be conducting an OVI checkpoint Friday, July 14.
The exact time and location of the checkpoint will be released Friday.
The Butler County OVI Task Force is funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation/National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Ohio Department of Public Safety.
