Millions of people will watch at 9 p.m. tonight, Oct. 7, as presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama face off —but not Jessica Hetterich.

The Hamilton woman will be one of about 500 people who be in the audience at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn.

That's because the 20-year-old Badin High School graduate entered an e-mail lottery two weeks ago to win one of 80 tickets up from grabs for the debate.

The Belmont junior was notified she was the 144th person out of 1,200 people who entered the contest. But she said she never thought she would win.

That all changed Monday night when Hetterich received a phone call from university officials while dining with friends.

"I got a phone call from Belmont and I thought I was in trouble," she said. "They said 'You've been selected to go to the debate. Can you be here tomorrow by 4?' I was like, 'Yes I can!'"
