Monday, June 30, 2008

FAIRFIELD — Takumi Stamping Inc., a producer of small metal stamped auto parts, will hold a groundbreaking ceremony in Fairfield Tuesday, July 1.

The new 120,000-square-foot manufacturing facility will produce parts for all Toyota vehicles manufactured in North America, according to release from the company. Takumi Stamping was established in 2001 as a joint venture between Pacific Industries and Takagi Manufacturing Co. Ltd., both based in Nagoya, Japan.

Company officials will be traveling from Japan to attend the event. The city of Fairfield will be represented by Mayor Ronald D'Epifanio.

The groundbreaking will be held in an open field area on the west side of Seward Road, just north of Union Centre Boulevard.
