Area woman killed in one-car crash

A Lewisburg woman died this morning following a one-car crash on Ohio 503 between Georgetown Verona Road and the Darke-Preble County line, according to the Preble County Sheriff's Office.
The crash was discovered at about 3:35 a.m., by a passing motorist. Deputies found the 1997 Chevrolet Venture van was northbound on 503 and traveled off the right side of the road. The vehicle struck the ditch and rolled several times before stopping after striking a tree.

Kimberly S. Bowling, 46, and the only occupant in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident, according to deputies.
She was removed to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office in Dayton where an autopsy will be performed. Investigators will await toxicology reports before making a final determination if alcohol was involved in the crash.
The road was closed for three hours while deputies investigated the accident.
This was the third fatal traffic accident on Preble County roads this year.
