Animals removed from Preble County farm amid neglect allegations
Horses, sheep in care of Animal Friends Humane Society in Trenton

EATON — Six horses and two sheep were removed from a farm Tuesday in an investigation of suspected neglect and care issues, the Preble County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.
A search warrant was executed at 2495 Winnerline Road in cooperation with the Butler County dog warden and Animal Friends Humane Society in Trenton.

The animals, which the sheriff's office said showed signs of lacking appropriate care including lack of adequate food and water, were taken to foster homes. They are in the care of the humane society.
Investigators expect to finish gathering evidence today to forward the case to the prosecutor's office for review and possible charges against the property owner.
Monetary donations are needed to help with veterinary care, the sheriff's office said. Money may be sent to AFHS, 5225 Trenton Road, Trenton, OH 45067.
Hay, 10-percent sweet feed grain and bandages, which are needed also, may be delivered to the humane societies in Trenton or in Preble County at 951 S. Barron St., Eaton.
