MIDDLETOWN — Butler County voters will have a chance to "get it right" for the November elections by getting informed about a proposed amendment to revamp the state's school funding system.
An informational meeting for the Getting it Right! for Ohio's Future campaign, the group backing the amendment proposal, will be held Tuesday night at the Middletown Public Library, said Katie McNeil, school board member for Middletown City Schools and Butler Technology and Career Development Schools.

It will be the first informational meeting in Butler County on the proposed amendment, she said.
"The purpose is just to help people find out more about the proposed amendment to the Ohio state constitution," McNeil said.
The amendment, currently in the petition stage, aims to shift the burden of funding public schools from local taxpayers to the state, according to rightforohio.org, the group's Web site.
If approved by voters, the amendment would make a "high quality" education a fundamental right for all Ohio children. It also would provide property tax relief for senior and disabled citizens, according to the Web site.
The local chapter of the American Association for University Women will host the meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Middletown Public Library, 125 S. Broad St.
