CHICAGO — Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has a plan that's designed to save $1.3 million in administrative costs and attract 50 million visitors to the city each year by 2020.

Emanuel on Wednesday announced plans to consolidate the current Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau with the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture.

Emanuel's office says the new organization will promote Chicago as a global destination and will work to help visitors enjoy Chicago's attractions, cultural offerings and diverse neighborhoods.

The mayor's office says the increased tourism should result in nearly $4 billion in additional revenue for Chicago's economy each year.
