Crews respond to multi-vehicle accident on local highway

MONROE — A 2-vehicle crash here today, Wednesday, Nov. 5, sent three people to area hospitals for unspecified injuries.

The accident reportedly occurred shortly at 3:50 p.m. at Ohio 63 and Main Street when a Chevy Cobalt and a Toyota Camry collided. Dispatchers at 4:05 p.m. requested Liberty Twp. Fire Department provide mutual aid.

Three occupants of the vehicles were transported to area hospitals but police could not yet provide any information about the nature of their injuries or the details of the crash.

Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage and airbags inside both were deployed.

Traffic was temporarily blocked on Main Street as police investigated the scene and crews worked to clean up oil, glass and debris.
