Ohio 4 crash sends three to area hospitals

MONROE — A Hamilton woman and her 11-month baby were taken by medical helicopter to a hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Ohio 4 this afternoon.
Two of the occupants, Amy Adams, 31, and her child, were taken to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton after the crash that occurred just before 4:30 p.m. on Ohio 4 just south of the former Lesourdsville Lake amusement park, according to Monroe police.
Amy Adams was reported in fair condition Thursday evening. Police said the child was stable and reportedly had no injuries. There was no information on the child at Miami Valley Hospital or at Dayton Children's Hospital late Thursday.
Police said the driver, Charlene Messer, 34, was taken by medical helicopter to University Hospital in Cincinnati.
According to police, all three were traveling in a 1993 Izuzu pickup truck north on Ohio 4 in the left lane when the truck went off the left side of the road.
