Staff Report

Tuesday, July 01, 2008

HAMILTON — The Workforce One Investment Board of Southwest Ohio announced this morning the appointment of board member Monica Walker-Floyd, who will represent senior employment training programs in Warren County.

Walker-Floyd is the program director of the Dayton Urban League's Seniors Community Service Employment Program, according to Workforce One.

The Centerville resident received a bachelor's degree in sociology from Wiley College and a master's degree in organizational management from the University of Phoenix.

Walker-Floyd brings her experience in community service to the board and will be an asset in addressing the employment and training needs of senior citizens, who continue to make up a vital component of the workforce, according to John R. Nelson, Workforce One board chairman.

The Workforce One Investment Board of Southwest Ohio is a three-county regional organization made up of leaders from business, education, labor and government agencies, although the majority of its board members represent the private business sector.
