FBI obtains records on Fox
Agent asks for copies of deeds pertaining to Fox's Fairfield Twp. home.
COMMENTS: How does the FBI investigation impact how you feel about Butler County government?
Thursday, May 01, 2008
HAMILTON — Officials at the Butler County Recorder's Office say an FBI agent came in person to ask them for information on Children Services Director Michael Fox last week.
On Wednesday, April 23, an agent requested an armful of copies of deeds and records pertaining to Fox's home at 6109 Creekside Way, Fairfield Twp., according to Chief Deputy Recorder Denise Goll.
Extras
The agent balked when Goll asked him to pay $86 for the certified copies, she said, though he eventually got it for free by having the Butler County Prosecutor's Office request the records.
This comes in the midst of an ongoing investigation into the county's dealings with Dynus Corp. The investigation has already led County Auditor Kay Rogers to resign after pleading guilty to bank fraud in the case, as well as an unrelated charge of tax evasion. Both charges are felonies.
The FBI is mum on whether Fox is implicated in the probe. "I can't confirm or deny any type of investigation on that individual," said FBI Spokesman Mike Brooks.
As a county commissioner until last year, Fox was a driving force behind the Dynus fiber optics project before it fell through when the company allegedly took out a $4 million loan in the county's name without the county's approval.
Fox said his conscience is clean on the issue: "They (the FBI) said their investigation of Dynus is ongoing and I would suspect they would do a thorough job of investigating everybody that was in office at that time," he said.

Mike Fox is great if you’re on crack won’t work and need someone to stop progress on your child’s case that’s getting ready to go permanent custody. He’s the man if you need someone to foot the bill for your new apartment come and paint it & pay your next three utility bills so you can sit on your butt and do nothing. He is great if you think that a child should be with their NATURAL parent at ANY cost; possibly even their life..that’s just a chance he’s willing to take.

I have to make a correction on one of the comments….Mike was involved with 240 million dollars worth of highway projects. Also, it’s one thing to not like Mike for personality differences and/or personal reasons, but, there’s no way that any person in Butler County has done or could do all the good things that Mike has brought and done to our county.

Rather than going by what you hear…PLEASE TELL…if you have such strong feelings on this why just say that he’s a bad guy. Many of you have made your judgement calls but have posted no evidence. What jobs are in jeopardy that Mike Fox has to do with? What unbelievable truth is now going to be exposed? If anything he has allowed more citizens in Butler County to get jobs! Check your facts and do some research.

Mike Fox will be caught this time because he no longer has the power to control everything. People who had feared for losing their jobs will now be willing to tell the FBI the whole story about Mike Fox. It will be shocking and disgusting!!!

Many of the comments that are being posted on here are from ignorant people who only believe what they read before hearing the facts. As for all of you who are automatically saying Mike Fox is guilty and/or corrupt what evidence do you have? Many of you neglect to acknowledge the good that Mike Fox has brought to Butler County Ohio. Allow me to remind you or refresh your memory, Mike Fox has brought over a billion dollars to our community. Voters and taxpayers have certainly got a ‘bang for their buck’. Fox was involved with development in Butler County that has opened many doors for many citizens. Fox was involved with 24 million dollars worth of highway projects that were built through the Transportation Improvement District and those projects led to the creation of thousands of new jobs making Butler County the number one job producing county in the state and one of the top job producing counties in the nation. This also caused further investments and not to mention an increase in value to homes of over two billion dollars. As for those who question why the Fox highway had its name changed - - - IT IS CALLED POLITICS! The name was taken down because senator Scott Nine did not like him. Simple as that. I also have to remind you that the highway led to the development of Bridgewater Falls along with the creation of new jobs that would otherwise be none existent if Mike Fox had not have been involved. I have to say that the highway still is, and will always will be considered the Michael A. Fox highway. Furthermore, Union Center Boulevard, the Government Services Center, the Job Development Center, Wilks Conference Center at the Miami Hamilton campus, just to name a few, wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for Mike Fox. He has always been, and always will be one to help the under dog. No one in Butler County can go through his or her day without being touched and benefited by something that Mike Fox was involved in making happen. Mike Fox is a good man with a good heart that has done a lot of great things for our community. Honestly, ask yourself, if you had a problem that you and/or your family needed help on from the government, whom would you turn to help to fix it? For almost 30 years, it has been Mike Fox.

Unfortunately, Butler County is a microcosm of what is happening with elected officials all over our country. Shady business deals, sexual shenanigans, you name it and some public official has engaged in it. It is reflection of the breakdown of morals, ethics, and integrity in this country. Exploitation of others for personal gain seems to be becoming the norm rather than the exception. Kids need to be learning character education - these clowns certainly aren’t role models for them!

To all of you complaining about the gangs……..what gangs.
I live in Lindenwald and I have had officers tell my husband and I that there are no gangs in Hamilton, because they don’t have the balls to shoot anyone…..
Lindenwald and all of Hamilton is going down the tubes and the police officers don’t and wont do anything to any of the thugs walking the streets of Hamilton.

Mike Fox and all the rest of our elected commissioners are really a work of art, aren’t they? seems like they all came from the same mold.Well you know Mike has done nothing but keep trouble stirred up any where he can. He’s the one that caused Diane Logston to leave as head of job and family services. He was always trying to get her to hire one of his friends or aquaintences, and she refused. So he would bully her around and find something wrong. Also check out who he has hired on his new job.

When we first moved to Fairfield Township about 17 years ago there was a big stink where adjoining cities were trying to carve up all of our prime land and annex it into their own cities. Many elected officials in the township were understandably against that idea, but it was Mike Fox that was able to stand up to the challenge and eventually put a stop to all of that. Since then I’ve been a fan. An investigation doesn’t mean he’s guilty, give this some time folks…

Talk about corruption, How about all the welfare victems sitting home ,eating free, living free, and let’s not forget that great health insurance, But they can not pass one drug test. Let’s have the welfare collector pass drug test before getting there free ride ,There might be more money for the children. Not too mention better education.

First reports of this loan was 6 million, then 5.3 million and now it is down to 4 million. If the loan was taken out and no work performed or network equipment “purchased - leased”, then where is the money ? 4 or 6 Million shouldn’t be too hard for the FBI to track down. Is the County responsible for the loan ?

I hope the FBI strolls across the street to the Bar Association to peruse their files for disciplinary complaints that are filed; particularly those complaints that come back “No probable cause.” Then when probable cause is provided, no word from the bar association is ever heard! Codes of Ethics only protect the profession for which they are written. I liked the exposure of the Juvenile/DR Court systems Fox unveiled back in 2000-2001

Time for an audit from an independent agency. After the audit, publish to the public who has broken the law, who has hired family, who has taken money from special interest and who has gained politically and indict the lawbreakers, recall the ones that hired family and did unethical but not illegal actions.Clean house and elect a new group. If they happen to be as bad as the old group, repeat step one above until we assemble a decent group of human beings to represent us ethically, morally, legally.

It’s a shame when those who were once elected to serve, serve only themselves wheather it’s in Butler County or anywhere else in the state. Most people realize that net-working is what gets things done and gets you ahead regardless of what or where you are. When elected officials net-work for their own benefit though, that’s when it’s wrong! Only time will tell what will come out of this FBI investigation. Unfortunately wrong-doing just continues while that happens.

Placing Fox, the poster child of what’s been wrong in the spotlight improves my view. His antics (bullying, spending habits, frequent flyer junkets, personal aids, patronage and ethics) have outweighed the good and influenced others - who we blindly re-elect, to act as poorly. No doubt, the growing distrust of party antics led to many ignoring their non-endorsement of Rogers. Thankfully, she and other’s are out. I’d feel even better if Fox, and Rogers’ blatant gas pump ads were both gone.

After the Kay Rogers situation came to light, is it just merely a coincidence that Mike Fox “stepped down” from an elected position as commissioner to accept an “appointed” one for the sake of the “children”, and where he can’t be voted out of office? Let me tell you, this kind of stuff has been happening for decades in Butler County, even back when the gangsters from Chicago used to come to Hamilton to hide out and the locals turned their heads.

Folks, I hate to break this news to you, but WE are mostly to blame for letting this happen. Yes, our part in this fiasco is blindly electing and re-electing these people year after year with no accountability and with no study of the candidates before we cast our ballots. Yes, I agree we need to cut the GOP and everyone on the party’s dole down to size. But remember, changing the chairs on the Titanic is not the answer. It’s time to replace the weeds with flowers.

Maybe good ole Mike is getting paid back for the way he treats all foster parents. Most foster parents aren’t criminals, most aren’t in it for the money. Mike treats all foster parents as if they are both of those. Maybe that is because he is a criminal himself. He nor his office will return calls or respond to emails. Everyone knows our good ol boy Commissioners handed Mike his current job out of party cronyism. He was, and remains unqualified. He was granted his job as a way of letting him finish out the remaining years of his Ohio PERS minimum term so he could retire after 3 years or so. As a conservative I usually align myself with Repubs but it’s time for some accountability in But. Co. government. Mr. Fox most likely has his fingers in the cookie jar but let’s allow the investigation to run its route.

Some of our current officeholders appear to be all about exploiting their positions and connections for personal benefit and/or political payoffs. They are unconcerned about voters and taxpayers. Poor management, blatant favoritism and conflicts of interest illustrate our current spoils system. Certain current officeholders show little genuine concern for community and voter welfare. Power corrupts and the current party has been unchallenged too long. Remember at the polls!
