Alleged gang members busted for selling drugs

Staff Report

Friday, March 28, 2008

Police seized three grams of cocaine, a gun and arrested three teens and an adult affiliated with a Hamilton gang called the Riverside Bloods.

The arrests occurred near a park at Fourth and Henry streets and were the result of an undercover operation with the Hamilton Police Department's vice squad, said Detective Joey Thompson.

Eric Holmes, 21, of the 100 block of Walnut Street, is charged with trafficking in cocaine, police said.

Three juveniles, two 17-year-olds and a 15-year-old, also were charged. Thompson said one of the juveniles was carrying a firearm.

Holmes is the son of Henry Holmes and a cousin to Juan Holmes, who are both in prison after being convicted in a major drug trafficking ring in Hamilton, Thompson said.

That bust occurred in February 2007 and netted 17 arrests, according to JournalNews archives.
