Stabbing, burglary suspect apprehended

WEST CHESTER TWP. — A man suspected in a burglary and stabbing incident in West Chester Twp. has been caught. According to police, 23-year-old Terrance A. Candidate forced his way into a home of a possible acquaintance at 6147 Birkdale Drive around 9 p.m. Thursday, March 27. He allegedly threatened the home's occupants with a knife, which he used to stab one of them after a brief altercation.
The stolen car was found Friday morning, March 28 in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Lakeside Drive. On Friday afternoon, police located the suspect's apartment, 6574 Lakeside Drive, Apt. 309H, and attempted to get the suspect to exit. A S.W.A.T. team was called when he would not come out.

The team entered and apprehended the man without incident, according to Lt. Erik Niehaus.
