Deputy injured in crash recovering
HAMILTON — A Butler County Sheriff's Office deputy injured Sunday after his cruiser was hit during a traffic stop in Hanover Twp. is recovering from injuries, according to Sgt. Monte Mayer, sheriff's office spokesman.
Deputy Faron Addis was extricated from his cruiser after being injured while on a traffic stop at about 9 a.m. on Reily-Millville Road.
Addis had pulled over Ken Duersken, of Oxford, on Reily-Millville near U.S. 27. He was completing a written warning when his cruiser was hit from behind by a 2007 Pontiac, according to the sheriff's office.
The impact sent the cruiser into the back of Duersken's 2002 Kia van.
Addis was transported by medical helicopter to University of Cincinnati Hospital, where he was later released. Mayer said Tuesday Addis was recovering at home. He did not know how long Addis would off work.
The Pontiac's driver, Andrew J. Kochanowski, of Oxford, was taken to McCullough-Hyde Hospital for minor injuries, according to the sheriff's office.
The crash remains under investigation and Tuesday no charges had been filed, Mayer said.

JN seeks stories about blizzard
Saturday is the 30th anniversary of the Blizzard of 1978.
The snow, blended with low temperatures and swirling winds, wreaked havoc on the Butler County landscape.
Hundreds of motorists were stranded in their cars because nearly every highway or street was closed in the county. Residents were stuck in their homes for nearly a week — many without electricity.
We'd like to hear from our readers about where they were and what they did when the storm hit Hamilton and other Butler County communities.
