CLEVELAND — The JournalNews was honored Friday as Best Daily Newspaper in Ohio, with circulation under 100,000, by the Press Club of Cleveland.
Judges cited the paper's seven-part series on Hamilton's growing Hispanic population as a factor in the award.

The paper also won second-place for its Spanish-language Web site www.journal-news.com/nuestra.
Photographers Greg Lynch and Gary Stelzer each won honorable mention.
"This award belongs to the JournalNews reporters, photographers, line editors and page designers, who work very hard each day to bring readers a compelling package of the latest news," said Editor Lisa Warren, who received the awards at Friday's banquet.
This is the fifth time the paper has been recognized as best in the state in its circulation category in the past five years, including citations from the Associated Press and the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists.
More than 1,200 entries were judged for the 29th Annual Excellence in Journalism Awards conducted by the press club.
